Fitcation 2012 – The Fun Continues

Did you miss the beginning of my Fitcation adventure?  No fear!  You can read about Day 1 here and see some fancy pictures too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lolo and I made it to L.A. around 1:00 – way too early to check into the hotel.  We had a plan to meet up with another friend for lunch and what a treat too!  5 of us climber into a car and headed to Red Robin for some fun and laughs.  FYI, I had the veggie burger with a gluten-free bun and YUM!!  I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
By the time we were done, it was time to head over to the Four Seasons, check in and get Fitcation started.
The Four Seasons is amazing!  From the lobby to each room.  From one staff member to the next….the Four Seasons is everything you expect a luxury hotel to be.
The rooms were amazing!  The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to ever get out of it.  And the bathroom – oh, the bathroom!  Marble with a deep bathtub and a separate shower.  Gorgeous!  Housekeeping came twice a day to tidy up, turn down the beds and turn the lights on.  This was high-class living!
After checking into the hotel and a few minutes to settle in, we all headed to Leah’s room for our Pajama Party and Google Hangout with the ladies at home.  Greek food for dinner (and my first taste of hummus which I have fallen in love with), a TON of laughs and SIP wine and Coco Breve for those girls who were drinking – a good time was had by all.
Lolo and I left the party at a decent hour because we knew what was waiting for us the next day – a boot camp with Steve from Fit Body Boot Camp (follow him on Twitter – @OCFitBody).  Oh – my legs!  My arms!  I felt it everywhere!!  It was intense and I am just now starting to feel “normal” again.  If you are in CA and want to do an intense 30 minute workout – call Steve!  He’s also a great motivator and really made me go the extra mile.
After a shower, we all headed out to Dole Headquarters for a tour of their facility and to find out all of the cool stuff they are involved with right now.  There is SO much to cover here, Dole is going to get a post all to themselves.  So look for that soon.  I can’t wait to tell you about their Portobello Mushroom powder and the amazing breakfast we had on their patio.
During a Subway lunch, we got an amazing treat!  We got to listen to a motivation talk by Joshua Medcalf of Train To Be Clutch.  He had me in tears at one point by what he was saying….it was quite powerful.  I want to tell you guys all about it but he ideas and words deserve their own space.
We then got to tour the gorgeous and serene California Health & Longevity Institute.  If you watch Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition then you will recognize this place.  We got a tour of their facilities, including the fitness room, spa, pool and grounds.
California Health & Longevity Institute (CHLI) is the only place of its kind offering a seamless integration of evidence-based medicine with qualified experts and programs designed to improve health and wellness for individuals and organizations.  The Institute uses a 360-degree approach by integrating five disciplines to achieve lifestyle and well-being goals: Medical, Nutrition, Fitness, Life Balance and Spa.  An on-site medical clinic fuses the latest breakthroughs in Western preventive-care medicine with complementary and alternative Eastern medical techniques, and houses a complete imaging suite, dermatology center and a medical laboratory.
They have their own garden behind the facility, as well as a greenhouse, and grow just about all their own vegetables.  It’s a gorgeous, peaceful place to walk through and all of the guests are welcome to enjoy it.
After about an hour break, we all loaded up int o a van to go to Leah’s house for an InspiredRD dinner, prepared by Momma Bookieboo herself.  We even got a cooking demonstration by Alysa, which was great (stir-fry…YUM!!)!  Dinner was amazing (and completely gluten-free) and we all sat around and chatting.  The wine was broken out again and everyone had a really good time until it was time to head back to the hotel.
Alysa, or @InspiredRD. She is gorgeous and a good cook too.
Whew………see how much stuff went on and that isn’t even all of it!!  I have LOTS more to tell you….tomorrow.  🙂
Stay tuned.  Until next time…..
Fitcation was sponsored by Dole, Four Seasons Westlake Village, the California Health and Longevity Institute, Sip the Good Life, New Balance, Subway and Leading Lady Bras.  These sponsors provided the attendees with lodging, meals, activities and product during the event.  As an attendee, I was asked to give my honest opinion and all opinions are 100% my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of these organizations.
