FitBit – I Love Thee

When Mother’s Day comes around, I always get the same question…”What do you want?”.  My answer is usually something along the lines of  “Oh nothing.  I just want to spend time with my fantastic family.”  Not this year!  This year I did want something….badly.

I wanted a FitBit.

As you know by now, I am part of a group of health and fitness minded women – Mamavation.  In Mamavation, there is emphasis on movement and a pedometer is a tool most of us use.  I had a pedometer that worked just fine…..but I wanted a FitBit.

The Fitbit Tracker shows your real-time activity stats so you know how close you are to your goals. It’s with you every step of the day, motivating you to make small changes that add up to big results.

I’ll be honest, what attracted me at first was the cool sleep mode but I was quickly won over by all of the amazing things this little machine tracks.

Activity tracking – tracks steps, calories burned and distance traveled with a 3-D motion sensor.  Also, there is a new altimeter which can track floors you’ve climbed.

Sleep tracking –  worn on the provided FitBit sleep wristband, it can track how long it took to fall asleep, how many times and for how long you were awake during the night and calculates your actual sleep time.

Also, you can check your progress at any time with a push of a button.  The FitBit is small so it clips anywhere without being bulky or in the way.  I often forget I am even wearing it because it is so comfortable.

Simply by plugging it into your computer, you can see your activity, sleep, track your meals and all sorts of reports and graphs.  There is also a community in which FitBit users ask questions and get answers.

All of this for only $99.95.  It’s a steal, actually.

Another cool thing?  The FitBit Aria!

I think I desperately need this too.   The FitBit Aria not only measures your weight…it also measures body fat and BMI.  The scale uploads to fitbit.com through you wireless network.  Um, awesome!!  I see a birthday present in my future.

So tell me – what do you use to keep track of your steps and activity?

Until next time…..

I was not compensated for this review and I received no free product.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  I just REALLY like it.  A lot.
